20 MINUTES
What do I get?
During this longer appointment, Tom will have the opportunity to undertake a more detailed analysis of your situation.
He can look more closely at the facts of your case and take a bit more time to form a view as to the strengths and weaknesses of your potential claim, in order to give you a more thorough analysis.
This service is suitable for clients who need a quick opinion but who, perhaps, would prefer a bit more time on the phone or whose cases are a little more complex factually or legally.
What we need from you
Tom will need details of the case prior to the call, so it is important to fill in our online form after you complete making the appointment. You will be redirected to the correct page. Or it can be found here.
Basic Paperwork Assessment (selected core documents), Appraisal & Advice – £80
30 MINUTES
What do I get?
- 20 minute paperwork assessment (up to 25 pages) followed by;
- 10 minute phone consultation
Tom will spend 20 minutes reading your core documents (up to 25 pages) in advance of the telephone discussion. He will then spend 10 minutes on the phone with you, providing you with his views on your particular scenario.
He can look more closely at the facts of your case and take a bit more time to form a view as to the strengths and weaknesses of your potential claim, in order to give you a more thorough analysis.
This service is suitable for clients who need an analysis of their paperwork in order to decide how to move forward. For example, you may need Tom to analyse an employment contract or a clause within it; you may have a query about a bonus or commission scheme, or you may want Tom to read a grievance in the context of a possible constructive dismissal claim. Alternatively, you may have already prepared a chronology or a draft statement setting out what has happened and you would like Tom to read through this in order to get a flavour of what your case is about before speaking with him.
What we need from you
Tom will need details of the case prior to the call, so it is important to fill in our online form after you complete making the appointment. You will be redirected to the correct page. Or it can be found here.
He will also need your core documents. These can be uploaded to our system once you have completed our form. You will be sent an email with a link to upload. Alternatively, you can email these to Tom directly at mail@tomstreet.co.uk.
Examples of Core Documents
Core documents are the main documents in your case, for example:
- Contract of employment
- Dismissal or grievance letters
- Settlement agreements
- Chronologies and;
- Important letters and emails between you and your employer.
Core documents should be kept to a minimum at this stage.
Detailed Paperwork Assessment, In Depth Appraisal & Advice – £150
1 HR
What do I get?
- 30 minute paperwork assessment (up to 50 core pages) followed by
- 30 minute phone consultation
If you feel you have more core documents than can reasonably be reviewed by way of our 30 minute consultation, this fixed fee option may be more suited to your needs.
Rather than keeping your core documents to a minimum, Tom will set aside 30 minutes to appraise a more expansive selection of your paperwork (up to 50 core pages), and as a result, be able to provide a more in depth analysis of the merits of your case.
Followed by a 30 minute telephone consultation, you will benefit from Tom’s comprehensive, straightforward legal advice on the strengths and weaknesses of your position.
This option is ideally suited to those with reasonably complex cases but that don’t have a huge amount of core documentation, who:
- Need a cost effective, considered appraisal of their legal position before pursuing their claim;
- Have a more complex case and want a second opinion before advancing their claim themselves;
- Have left it too late to get ongoing legal representation and want the reassurance they have a strong enough case to pursue.
This option represents a modest financial outlay to determine the strength of the supporting paperwork on which your case rests.
In short, you will have peace-of-mind that you are in a good position to advance your claim, having received the considered appraisal of a seasoned employment lawyer.

Full review of papers, comprehensive preliminary case assessment and legal advice – £500
What do I get?
- Assessment of up to 200 core pages followed by;
- 30 minute phone consultation
This is our most comprehensive fixed fee telephone consultation.
It is designed to offer you the convenience of a full preliminary case assessment without the need to visit a solicitor in person, and includes a full review of 100-200 pages of supporting paperwork.
At a time convenient to you, simply upload all your relevant paperwork for an extensive appraisal by Tom. This should include all core documents and any additional selective supportive paperwork upon which you intend to rely, in advancing your claim.
Following meticulous assessment of your paperwork, Tom will form his legal conclusions on the merits of your case.
This will be followed up by a 30 minute telephone consultation, during which time you will receive a full and frank evaluation of the strengths or weaknesses of your case.
Tom’s comprehensive consultation is ideal if you:
- Have a highly complex case involving a significant volume of evidence to consider
- Wish to minimise legal costs, but want the assurance of a comprehensive legal position on the merits of your case
- Have a case deemed too complicated for no win no fee representation, but strong enough to warrant advancing a claim independently
- Have a strong case and wish to retain all compensation that may be awarded, but want the reassurance of a considered legal merits assessment before moving forward
Whilst this is our most expensive Talk to Tom option, it represents exceptional value in terms of the breadth of assessment you will receive. It is a comprehensive, convenient and time saving method of accessing the legal opinion of one of the UK’s leading employment law litigators.
